I think the quote a little bit… funny But, there are some value bother me. As programmer, I never thought about appearance.. Who care anyway, we just need to deliver excellent product at low cost. It doesn’t matter how mess you are, as long the program is reliable, and having nice design interface, that’s enough. But hey, if you can be genius and fashionable at once, why not? Let’s make new image’s revolution for programmer, we are not just mastermind.. but also stylish.

Some people say, the way you present yourself reflex your personality and the quality of your work. If you appear in well-formed constantly, it’s like telling, “It’s my habit to always perform in well-organized”.

I think Chef’s uniform is good example about how appearance affect people perception about your quality of work. Chef always wear white clean uniform, to assure customer that all the cook is prepared hygienically (even though we never know). But, you’ll lose appetite instantly if you knew the food prepared by someone with dirty look and filthy hand, won’t you?

Okay, here are some tips to keep you in simple and ellegant form:

Keep it neat and clean
This is basic mandatory rule! If its too much to be fashionable, at least you could just appear nicely and fresh. Make sure your pants, shirts and other clothes are ironed, stain-free and in good condition.
Heels (for ladies)
Heels help you having a good posture even it’s only kitten heels.. unless you need to run around all day.
Dress appropriately
Yes, I understand you work overtime and often spend the night at the office, but no matter how comfortable you feel with your pajamas, please do not wear it to the office. Try to use clothes, like a dark pant suit, button-down collared shirt, and a classic pair of dark shoes. Trust me, with an appropriate dress, you will behave more confidence and poise.
Beware of body odour
You don’t want your colleaques to feel uncomfortable while having discussion, just because you smell very bad. Now you knew why turn-over is so high! There are three area you need to concern: breath, armpit, and feet. And there are also three solution for that: mouth wash, deodorant, and cotton socks.
